Purebred Arabian mares are written in green letters
The following names of foundations mares mark the beginning of great family lines, such as
CSERKESS = Tscherkesse;
ERDELY = Siebenbürgen breed
MOLDVAI = Moldau breed
MAGYAR = Hungarian breed
RADAUTZI = Radautz breed.
These designation showed the origns of these largely Arabian bred mares, who belonged to teh Transsylvanian
light horse breeds that were valued as cavalry horses in Europe in those days. They were hardy, typey, very refined horses with
dry texture and small, beautifull heads.
The mares names were prefixed with a registration number when they were accepted for breeding. Thus there
exist in Babolna for example six different MOLDVAI mare families numbered 215, 253, 449, 638, 794 and 885. All are represented in
our breeding programs and have entirely different lines of descent.
